Alpha Gauge reads simple text files that look like this. (The format is called “tab delimited”.)

How To

To create such a file, begin in Excel with data arranged like this:

The date format can be  MMM-YY or DD-MMM-YY.  So either “Mar-06” or “31-Mar-06”.

Save the track record as a text file:

 

Now simply upload the file to measure the alpha of the fund.

Additional Options

The first line of the text file can be an optional title, as in this file.
